Jackson County Cooperative Extension is having a workshop this fall to provide farmers in the area with the tools to reduce food safety risks and meet marketing requirements. This one-day Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) Workshop will address how farms of all sizes can achieve USDA GAPs Certification, deliver information on principles of fresh produce safety and on-farm hazard assessment, as well as providing assistance with creating a produce farm safety plan.
The workshop will be held at the Jackson County Extension Office from 9am to 4pm on Friday November 20th, 2015. Cost for materials and lunch will be $25.00. If a Farm is already GAP Certified this workshop will meet the update portion of the annual certification.
