Onslow County 4-H volunteers and staff traveled to Greensboro, NC to celebrate with colleagues and friends at the NC State 4-H Volunteer Leader’s Conference and Awards Ceremony. As the room filled with excitement for an evening of achievement, the joy of fellowship over a pork chop dinner started things off right. Our very own Greatness Grows 4-H Club Leader, Jamie-Carol Nettles was honored as one of the Southeast District’s Volunteers of the Year. Jamie-Carol and her husband, James, both serve as Shooting Sports Instructors in addition to maintaining the Greatness Grows 4-H Club and an additional special interest 4-H group for Jr. Master Gardeners. Jamie-Carol is an Onslow County 4-H Alumni that enjoys sharing her lifetime of 4-H experiences with her 4-Her’s and parents.

John Osborne, Onslow County 4-H Program Assistant, was recognized for his Excellence and Commitment in 4-H Service for Volunteer Support. John works tirelessly with our club leaders, and has walked each of the nine Shooting Sports 4-H leaders through training each year. Anyone that has ever met John can attest to his big heart and the effort he provides to each person he serves.

Thank you Jamie-Carol and John for your service to the citizens in Onslow County and for your support of our 4-H program!
