A Quick Look Inside EYFP
What is EYFP?
The NC Empowering Youth and Families Program (EYFP) is a family empower program that challenges each member of the unit to learn and utilize new tools for navigating common concerns, experiences, and situations.
The goals of our program are to:
- Provide communities with tools and resources for improving life skills
- Create a space for collaboration, creativity, and learning
- Develop new ways to support members of the household
- Learn about additional, available county resources
- Establish liasions with community partners, stakeholders and residents
- Analyze the effect of opioid usage on adolescent development
- Identify common risk factors and useful protective measures
EYFP in Onslow County
Onslow County began programming for the Spring 2019 Empowering Youth and Families Program on February 25th. Each family participated in a twelve session program that is designed to strengthen their relationships and empower them to lead community change.
Upon program completion, our family cohort embarks on a weekend retreat at an Eastern 4-H Center. Here our focus is developing a community action plan for sharing the program highlights and details with the community.
