Please let the receptionist know you're here to pick up a Soil Sample Kit. Once your soil sample is completed you may drop it back off to our office for us to ship to Raleigh for your results.
Question: What is a completed soil sample?
Answer: A completed soil sample is your boxed up sample(s) with completed sample information sheet and payment* tucked underneath the flaps.
**PLEASE MAKE SURE EACH SAMPLE BOX HAS YOUR NAME, SAMPLE ID, AND ADDRESS WRITTEN ON IT. You'll see a section on each box for your Name, Address, and Sample ID (list the same Sample ID(s) you listed on the sample information sheet)**
You can log up to 6 samples on one sample information sheet. Any additional need to be logged on another copy of the sample information sheet.

Does it cost to have my soil tested?
From November 25th, 2025 - March 31st, 2026 any samples received will need to include a $4 fee per sample box.
Starting April 1st, 2026 - November 23rd, 2026 you can submit your soil sample(s) for FREE.
What are the payment methods?
- You can provide us with a check made out to NCDA that you can fold up with your sample information sheet and tuck under your boxed up sample's flaps. NO CASH See example below.
- Or if you'd rather pay NCDA directly online - when you fill out your Sample Information Sheet write "Invoice" and you will have to pay for your invoice online by credit card in order to view your Soil Sample Results when they are ready. See example form below and click here for more details.
When will my samples be shipped off?
Once your boxed up sample(s), payment*, and completed sample information sheet is dropped off, our staff will ship your check*, boxed up sample(s) and completed sample information sheet to Raleigh by courier.
As of 10/31/2025 we are shipping samples off every Thursday.
When will I get my results?
**It varies, during non-peak season it should take around 2 weeks for you to receive your results, but during peak season it could take up to 6 weeks.**
Your results are sent to the email address you wrote down on your Sample Information Sheet.
