Food Security Resource Guide
Onslow County aims to reduce hunger and provide resources for those affected by food insecurity and hunger, especially while food and nutrition benefits are paused. Food Insecurity, or being without reliable access to enough affordable, healthy food, can happen to anyone, no matter their age, race, job status, or gender.

Following are local food pantry and pickup locations for community members needing assistance.

Interested in making a donation? Here are some tips for what to look for:

  • When buying canned goods, look for items that do not require a can opener.
  • Avoid glass containers if possible.
  • Look for items low in sodium and high in fiber.
  • Would you eat it or feed it to your family? A good rule of thumb is to purchase healthy shelf stable items you would enjoy eating.
  • If allergen-free options are available, consider donating them, like gluten-free pastas or nut-free items.
