The NCCEAPA met Wednesday, September 22, 2021, for their annual fall meeting. The meeting was held virtually via Zoom, for the second year, in lieu of an in-person conference.

The day started with remarks and updates from Dr. Rich Bonanno, Associate Dean of CALS and Director of NC State Extension, and Dr. Rosalind Dale, Associate Dean and Administrator for N.C. A&T State University Extension Administration. Roy Baroff, Staff Ombuds, updated association members on his role in mediating staff issues and encouraged staff to avail themselves of the services his office provides.

Anne White, HR Consultant with Learning & Organizational Development, presented the first professional development session of the day on “Leading with Character.” Attendees completed assessments on their character strengths and virtues prior to the meeting. Break-out sessions and discussions enhanced the presentation. The second session, a refresher on ActiveCampaign, was delivered by Kyleen Burgess of Extension IT.

Following lunch, Gwen Rubio, Administrative Assistant in Granville County, led exercise and movement out routines that got attendees up and out of their chairs.

The final professional development activity was on Google Drives, given by Katie McInerney of NC State University’s Office of Information Technology. She outlined the benefits of using and sharing Google Drives, Google Groups, and the differences in permissions and access options, as well as information about Google Meet as an alternative to Zoom.

The day ended with the annual business meeting. Zoom attendees heard district and committee reports, approved the new budget and officers, and were encouraged to attend the 2022 NCCEAPA Fall Conference, to be held September 20–23, 2022 in Kitty Hawk.
